Memorial Day at the Delta

Thank GOD for the Beyer Family! Ever since Eric met Dave (some ten years ago), we have been lucky enough enjoy his little house on the water every summer. We love the Delta! We took Lila for her first time this past Memorial Day weekend. The weather stunk, but we still managed to have a great time. Good company, food, beer and lots of puppies running around. It doesn't get much better. Thanks Art & Linda!!

Crayons

Okay - so we tried crayons this afternoon and it didn't work out. Evidently, crayons taste better to Lila than the lunch she refused to eat today. Go figure. I learned that getting green wax out of tiny, sharp molars is very dangerous.

Olivia

The Neyman's returned to SF for a visit. Before they moved to Denver, we would have met up at the bar for our little reunion. Of course, that was prior to our current "baby is boss" lifestyle. The Hicks' Easter Sunday

This was Lila's second Easter but we like to think of it as her first. Last year, she was only three months old afterall! She got dolled up in a DRESS and even put a BARRETTE in her hair! We were very proud. The Easter Bunny sent a special basket for Lila - it was actually her mommy's basket when she was a little girl. Funny how that Easter Bunny knows his stuff. We should probably thank GG for filling him in. The basket was loaded with crackers, socks, a new outfit, books, crayons and even a bathing suit. She was pretty impressed, but the confetti string seemed to make her smile the most.

Saturday at the Park

Lately, Saturday mornings include pancakes (which Lila actually eats), walking to the farmers market and most recently playing at the park. Now that Lila can walk, visiting the park is way more manageable. She loves the slide and chasing the geese.

It stresses me out just a tad, but Eric did find a bike seat for Lila. Now they can be seen cruising the neighborhood every night. I admit it's pretty cute.

Lila in Tahoe

We were invited to our friends ski cabin in Tahoe this past weekend and had the best time! On Sunday, we had lunch at Harwoods which has a huge deck overlooking the lake. Lila made friends with a few older kiddies. They chased her... she chased them... this went on for quite a while. It's so fun to watch Lila with other little kids. She managed to keep herself fully entertained for most of the afternoon. Momma and Daddy were thrilled with this newfound independence (not to mention we were able to finish our Wet Woody's before the ice melted).

Big Girl

Lila celebrated her 1st birthday on January 5th. It's still hard for us to believe a whole year has passed since the day she was born. We have so many memories - many of them captured on this blog - it's hard to imagine it all occurred in the last 12 months.

This photo was taken of Lila within the first 72 hours of being born. As you can see - she's all grown up. Our hearts are filled with love for Lila. She's the best thing to happen to us.

So, we had a little party for the birthday girl. The weather was terrible but everyone showed up and we had a great time! Lila was in heaven with all the little kids to play with. Both Grandma's were here to celebrate with her so she felt very special.
